Saeromy & Charlene

Saeromy Kim graduated with her Bachelor’s in Nursing in 2014 and is currently working in the Emergency Department and saw a great need for SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner) nurses in the community. Getting training for both pediatric and adult patients, she currently works in the Midwest serving survivors. She alongside with Charlene are getting ready to launch their 2SaneRNs program next week, to serve the communities about sexual assault awareness, prevention, and treatment.

Charlene Reid started her education career in Clinical laboratory science. After a year she quickly realized this was not where her passion lay. The one thing she knew was that she loved forensics and she wanted to work with it in a way that included Anatomy and Physiology with lots of human interaction. That is when she discovered Forensic Nursing. She is now working as a forensic nurse while also working in Telemetry/stepdown and Cardiac Cath lab. She enjoys going on medical mission trips that have taken her to Africa and Asia. Her passion, along with nursing school best friend Sareomy Kim, is with their project 2SaneRNs, an education program that educates young adults on sexual assault prevention, consent, and treatment for sexual assault survivors. The goal is to decrease the incidence of sexual assault while educating survivors on the resources available to them through the legal process and supporting them in the healing process.
